Our client is a leading custom and contract manufacturing organisation, primarily manufacturing crop protection chemicals sold to major global agrochemical businesses worldwide. The business has strong financial backing and a significant top-tier COMAH operation in the UK.

Reporting to the CEO and part of the senior leadership team, the Head of Operations is a new role. The appointee will lead all aspects of the plant operations and engineering teams, via 6 key reports. The plants are currently in significant development so this is an excellent time to strengthen the leadership team. The individual hired will be the champion for all plant issues, hold people accountable and take the team on a journey of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Experienced chemical engineer with 10 years + chemicals plant operating experience
• Strong leader and coordinator – able to inspire trust, accountability and team cooperation
• Experience of running a top-tier COMAH chemicals facility with overall responsibility for production, engineering, maintenance and improvement initiatives, plus people leadership.
• Experience of batch operations in fine / specialty chemicals would be advantageous

The role will be full time based at the plant and relocation will be provided. A hybrid arrangement is not possible so critical the individual is happy with the location (to be discussed).
